Three skincare tips not to skip

Be it falling asleep with your makeup on after a late night out or skipping the suncream in the morning because you are running late – we are all guilty of cutting corners here or there when it comes to our skincare routines. There are, however, three crucial steps that you should always follow:

Moisturise twice a day

Make sure to moisturise both morning and night. During the colder months this step is even more important, as you want to give your skin all the moisture it needs to keep it well fed and hydrated. Remember to apply the cream to your slightly damp skin.

This cannot be emphasised enough. Why would you moisturise if none of the product penetrates your pores? Exfoliation can leave your skin looking brighter and improve the effectiveness of topical skincare products by enhancing absorption. Regular exfoliation can also help prevent clogged pores, resulting in fewer breakouts. Win win!

Don’t go to bed with your make-up

As much as we love the power of make-up, you do need to part ways when it’s time for bed. Proper makeup removal and cleansing is everything. The skin repairs and renews itself while you sleep and leaving makeup on prevents this renewal. Your skin will become less elastic more rapidly, and premature wrinkles will appear sooner than you want. Plus, regular wrinkles will deepen. If you are absolutely exhausted and can’t face the whole makeup removal routine, just use makeup remover wipes.
